TELLING A BIGGER STORY…

While attending Texas State University’s Theater Directing program, Johnny Chops went from picking up the occasional gig as a bass player and songwriter into a full fledged touring and recording career with the Randy Rogers Band. Over the many miles on tour, he often wondered if could he tell stories outside the usual three and half minutes needed for most modern music. The opportunity came when he started writing, directing and producing several music videos for his solo project, Johnny Chops & The Razors. It was as if a bridge to an entire new dimension opened up for him. Then during the pandemic, the forced hiatus from the road allowed him some time to explore his other talents and he reignited his original passion from college, acting. After being cast in a several online commercials, short and feature films, Johnny has devoted his energy to developing this new chapter in his creative career. In between projects, he enjoys keeping his skills sharp and has taken several online acting courses with the Actor’s Community and as well as enrolling at the Actor’s School at Austin Community College.
